An Adult Day Retreat?

[/ultimate_heading][vc_column_text]Being a caregiver can be rewarding and difficult at the same time. But there might come a time when you are faced with the difficult choice of what to do when the loved one you are caring for can no longer stay at home alone while you work, you need to go run errands or you might just need time for yourself. It is time to weigh out all your options and find the best one for you and your loved one. Here at Optimized Senior Living we have several options for you.

We offer long term Assisted Living, Respite Care, and an Adult Day Retreat. Here we want to better explain the Adult Day Retreat, which we refer to as our Optimized Retreat.

Adult Day Retreat can be just that for an aging loved one. This is a great choice when you just need some extra help. This is a where your family member still lives at home with you but goes to a care facility for the hours you need. This is an affordable option as well as allowing you to take time for yourself while having your loved one cared for in a home like setting. This experience will not only give you peace of mind but social interaction for your loved one. This option can be utilized for a minimum of 4 hours a day, during the day or at night for those who are unable to sleep. Long term commitments are a huge decision, but utilizing an Adult Day Retreat can be for just a few hours a week, or a couple days a week, whichever fits your schedule best.[/vc_column_text][ultimate_heading main_heading_color=”#898989″ sub_heading_color=”#898989″ alignment=”left” main_heading_font_family=”font_family:Montserrat|font_call:Montserrat|variant:500″ main_heading_style=”font-weight:500;” main_heading_font_size=”desktop:16px;” main_heading_line_height=”desktop:45px;” sub_heading_font_family=”font_family:Cabin|font_call:Cabin” sub_heading_font_size=”desktop:30px;” sub_heading_line_height=”desktop:38px;”]

Who Can Benefit?

[/ultimate_heading][vc_column_text]Benefits can be seen by both the caregiver and their loved one. For your senior it can provide them with cognitive and social functioning, preserving their independence by creating routines and giving daily expectations. Their behavior, health and quality of life is improved. They have a chance to socially engage with people their age. There are many different activities available ranging from music, games, physical activities, arts and crafts. Health care programs and meals are added benefits.

As a caregiver you will see your stress, anxiety, and even guilt fade away as you watch your loved one venture down a new path. It can also improve your relationship with not only the person you are caring for but other family members.

We often hear, why would we utilize an adult day place when we can have care brought into our home? Home care is an amazing service and certainly fills a need! However, some families are not comfortable having others in their home, especially if they are not around. Others may see their loved one experiencing isolation, depression or loneliness, and giving them social interaction and activities with others in the same situation can be extremely stimulating and beneficial for their health![/vc_column_text][ultimate_heading main_heading_color=”#898989″ sub_heading_color=”#898989″ alignment=”left” main_heading_font_family=”font_family:Montserrat|font_call:Montserrat|variant:500″ main_heading_style=”font-weight:500;” main_heading_font_size=”desktop:16px;” main_heading_line_height=”desktop:45px;” sub_heading_font_family=”font_family:Cabin|font_call:Cabin” sub_heading_font_size=”desktop:30px;” sub_heading_line_height=”desktop:38px;”]

Trying New Things

[/ultimate_heading][vc_column_text]Remember to be patient while going through this process. Change can be hard on senior citizens. This will be an adjustment you might find difficult at times. Make an appointment and take them for a visit to the adult day retreat. Make sure they feel comfortable and reassure them they will enjoy themselves. You might even find that you will want to stay for awhile the first time they come.[/vc_column_text][ultimate_heading main_heading_color=”#898989″ sub_heading_color=”#898989″ alignment=”left” main_heading_font_family=”font_family:Montserrat|font_call:Montserrat|variant:500″ main_heading_style=”font-weight:500;” main_heading_font_size=”desktop:16px;” main_heading_line_height=”desktop:45px;” sub_heading_font_family=”font_family:Cabin|font_call:Cabin” sub_heading_font_size=”desktop:30px;” sub_heading_line_height=”desktop:38px;”]
